PlayShop: Using alcohol inks to dye Travertine tiles to make a trivet. This is fun! I have a gazillion ink colors to use.

Playshop: Dying silk scarves with KoolAid. Fun! And yummy-smelling while you’re making them.
Here are photos of the scarves from three participants in a recent OngaArt PlayShop.

Playshop: Melting colored wax (Crayola-brand crayons, the best for this) on a canvas board and pushing the colors around with an iron. Then, we’ll fill in the white spaces (if you wish) with watercolors.

Playshop: Playing with watercolors on Yupo towards a colorful, abstract piece of art. Yes, you can do this!

Playshop: Making practical, usable stuff from Model Magic clay. You’ll feel like you’re mushing around with Play-Dough again! But better than that, Model Magic air-dries and can be painted.

Playshop: Move color on a canvas with water-soluble pastels and, um, water, and see the magic happen as you guide it.

I’ll send out the newsletter on or about the 1st of every month. You can easily unsubscribe at any time. And I promise to never, ever share your email address with anyone. Ever.

I now have a catalog in my online store where you can order prints of my play with alcohol inks. My page about alcohol inks tells the whole story.

(Oh, gosh, this WordPress stuff. If you want to go to my “real” home page, just click on “OngaArt home page” in the purple menu.

I am so grateful for your visit, BTW.

OngaArt studio joy!

All is arranged at OngaArt studio-gallery-shop in Oregon, WI. Just a snip away from being ready for my Open House.

I’ll host Open House on Sunday, February 23, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 5015 W. Netherwood Rd., Oregon, WI. Please join me and bring your vibrant energy to this place! And bring your friends.

This is your invitation
to come see my new working art studio, check out the OngaArt displayed, and interact with others who are interested in OngaArt.
The wandering live-music minstrel will be Tom Dehlinger on dobro. Enjoy pomegranate and cranberry juice punch, and cookies! Additional parking is available on N. Burr Oak Ave. just east of the studio, and in the Thysse parking lot (with permission) across the street.

In addition to my art available for adoption (and photo prints), I will have a small (in-development) retail area which currently features

  • Good, long-time friend Kristine Marie’s ceramic jewelry and whimsical scarves
  • Nature photography by my friend Else Karlsen. Her bird photos are amazing!
  • Scent of Samadhi, a plant-based fragrance and deodorant which uses an herbal blend from Mother Nature which works with our natural chemistry to create a fragrance that is truly unique to you
  • Sacred Threads — The Art of Clothing. Colorful shirts made in India that reflect OngaArt in many ways
  • And who knows what else will find its way there by February 23?

I will also be collecting cash donations to the Oregon Area Food Pantry (OAFP), so that is a reason in itself for you to come visit.

Tell me you saw this notice on my web site. I’m looking forward to seeing you!

I’m moved in, settled, and ready to make art.

I finished hanging my art on the walls (and displaying on easels) in OngaArt Studio, and am now down to the not-so-serious and not tedious freedom of simply pushing paint on canvas.

My building sign is installed, and my “open” sign is in the window, lit up when I’m there. (Hours will be, for now, “By chance or by appointment.”)
5015 W. Netherwood Rd., Oregon, WI. Come visit.

So grateful for this fabulous sacred space that is oozing with possibilities!

Subscribe to my occasional email newsletter to get your invitation to my Open House in February.

So excited! A new beginning!

I recently signed a lease for art space for my working studio, gallery and a small retail area. I needed a bigger work surface for bigger canvases!

It will take awhile to get settled, but this is what it will look like from the outside when I get my sign. More photos to come as I move in.

Sign up for my resurrected e-newsletter with new art posts, news and discounts just for subscribers. Plus you’ll get notices for art workshops that I will offer in my new space.
